At Jones Family Farm, all of our dairy products are naturally A2.

So, what is A2 protein?

Milk has different types of protein, and one of them is called beta-casein.
Most milk on the shelf has a mix of A1 and A2 beta-casein, but our sheep only make A2.

Many people find A2 milk easier to digest, so if you’ve ever felt uncomfortable after drinking regular milk, A2 might just feel better for you. It’s still the same fresh, creamy, full-flavoured milk – just gentler on your tummy.

Can I drink/eat it if I’m lactose intolerant?

Many people with mild lactose intolerance find that they can enjoy A2 milk and cheese without discomfort. That’s because A2 refers to the type of protein in the milk, not the lactose content, but some people who react to regular cow’s milk actually react to the A1 protein, not the lactose.
Everyone’s tolerance is different, so if you usually avoid milk, it’s worth trying a small amount of A2 milk or cheese to see how your body feels. And of course, if you have a diagnosed lactose allergy, it’s best to check with your healthcare professional first.

Is A2 better for me?

Our A2 milk and cheese come from sheep, not cows, and that makes a big difference. Sheep’s milk is naturally rich in protein, calcium, and essential vitamins and minerals, often more so than cow’s milk. It also has smaller fat globules and softer curds, which many people find easier to digest.
Plus, because it’s 100% A2, you won’t find the A1 beta-casein protein that’s linked to digestion discomfort in some people. The result? A creamy, full-flavoured dairy experience that’s gentle on your stomach and naturally packed with nutrition.
