At the 2024 NZ Champions of Cheese Awards, an annual celebration hosted by the New Zealand Specialist Cheesemakers Association, we proudly received three medals for our distinguished havarti range.
Winners
Our Peppered Havarti seized the spotlight, earning a gold medal, our Chilli Havarti secured silver in the Aged Flavour-Added category, and our Creamy Havarti earned silver in the NZ-Made European Cheeses category. Read our press release here.
Judging
A distinguished panel of 30 judges, comprising experts from diverse backgrounds in cheesemaking and food technology, meticulously evaluated over 270 locally produced cheeses under the guidance of Master Judge, Jason Tarrant.
The judges’ accolades for our havarti range were effusive, praising its “fabulous chalky but creamy texture” and highlighting its “mild, sweet, and nutty” flavours, and commented that they underscore the exceptional quality of our sheep milk.
Other Awards
This recent triumph follows our sweeping success at the 2023 Inspire+ NZ Artisan Awards, where our Classic Gouda, Creamy Havarti, Peppered Havarti, and Aged Cheddar varieties all secured gold medals.
